President Obama allows extension for
non-grandfathered plans President Obama announced a change to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act to allow Individual and Small Group members on plans scheduled for cancellation to keep their current plans through 2014, though he left it up to each state to choose whether or not to implement the change. After the president's statement, Washington Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler said that Washington state will not be extending these policies. The change the president suggested applies to anyone on an Individual or Small Group plan purchased after March 23, 2010, and prior to October 1, 2013. These plans are also known as the non-grandfathered plans. Comments are closed.
